My first insight into Russian literature. Bought it during lockdown, under the impression that it's a dystopian book. I find Russian literature difficult to digest and not the most enjoyable, to be completely honest. Didn't fully understand the nuances and couldn't understand how it linked to the development of the USSR.

There is nothing to say except that this is a great work of fiction involving political satire. Although there seems to be a similar reception to George Orwell's Animal Farm, Heart of a Dog is a different kind.  The story is more secluded and focused than Animal Farm; it is much more psychological too, in my opinion.
