The Book of Lost Names highligts an interesting and risky element of WW2, the forging of official documents for the purpose of smuggling Jews into safety. I thought this was a fascinating collaboration of historical fiction and a breath taking love story. I enjoyed every moment of it. We must do everything we can to ensure we don't erase our pasts...even if it means sacrificing everything.

A little contrived, nothing new to the story, but entertaining enough.

This book was a “light WWII” read. Many of the characters lacked depth and development that would have made the book a much heartier read. I also found it frustrating that Eva, the main characters is a total bad-ass but those qualities are overshadowed by the books focus on the love sick romance rather than the strength, brilliance and talent that make her a phenomenal woman.

This is another "I don't want to put it down" book that kept me from doing other things I should have. It is a brave-woman-WWII story told in the present by her aged self whose family and those in her world, marginalize her because they know nothing about the courage of her younger years and her past actions. It highlights how little we may may know of the people around us and is another testament to those many long-ago heroes.

I have a high standard for WW2 resistance novels and if I hadn’t read several that are better, this would easily get a higher rating. It was a clever premise, a new perspective, but sometimes there was a lack of tension. Once she got settled in the town, she didn’t have to worry about being discovered as a Jew, even with German soldiers walking around. Sometimes things that should have been more difficult went too quickly or the difficulty was not addressed at all.

Overall, I really liked it. I guessed the ending but it was a very sweet and lovely way to end a good book.
