A very fun story that strikes the right balance between horror and comedy. Even though the plot was absurd, the characters felt extremely realistic which grounded the ridiculousness around them.
Graphic: Gore and Body horror
Moderate: Drug use, Injury/Injury detail, and Suicidal thoughts
Minor: Pedophilia

Ok, wow. For a start I am absolutely loving this series, and the temptation is strong to just dive straight into the next one (but i know the next one is the last... For now?)
The same entertaining characters from the previous books are back with a bunch of new ones (both human and other), more wackiness and more apocalyptic horror. I thought the ending was a little... loose...with regards to resolution of the monster plot, but I think I can forgive that for the resolution of the emotional plot. The handling of mental health issues is spot-on and I am feeling things I never expected to with these books.
Wait, what's that, the funny horror book made me feel emotions? Sorry, maybe I can't forgive that after all 😄

I love the JDATE series, always funny, always gross. I love how Pargin plays with the unreliable narrator in all of his books, it makes John and Dave very realistic and hilarious. Also, the sense of dread that this book gave me with the fucking concrete snowman was incredible.
Graphic: Body horror, Car accident, Child death, Death, Drug abuse, Gun violence, Sexual violence, and Slavery
