julianananana's review against another edition
I tried to keep with the book because of it's focus is alcohol abuse, which is timely for me, but DNF'ed it because it's so starkly white feminist. Kristi Coutler presents her white, upper middle class perspective as if they are the problems of all women in America, or at least the "default" woman in America, without even nodding to the fact that many other demographics of women have different and sometimes significantly worse experiences here. It just irked me and I feel like I've been fortunate enough to read so many richer feminist memoirs that this one falls flat for me, too.
Oh, also, her life and experiences are simply not very interesting. :)

Coulter tries to be funny/relatable but it just comes off so, so, so trite. a very annoying voice to be stuck with for this many pages—all that to not really add that many interesting thoughts to the experience of addiction. someone else said this in a review already but i myself was also shocked to learn the author’s name bc it read so much like the thoughts of a teenager.

Not at the top of my list of addiction memoirs.
