Overall a really fun, enthralling, adventure-filled series. This last book gave me a lot of emotions. By the end I felt so attached to the characters and was very invested in their fates. I loved where the story goes in this book and the ending was extremely satisfying.

oh my god this book series destroyed me and I am SO SAD ITS OVER I JUST WANNA LIVE IN THIS WORLD FOREVER. easily in my top three favorite series of all time. The way  Annette writes is so breathtakingly beautiful it felt like I was inside the 24 episode series arc to the most insanely action packed, plot filled, devastatingly romantic anime to ever exist EVER. The storyline, the lore, the battles, the characters - both main and side were so fucking good I wanna erase this series from my brain to read it all over again for the first time. Emi was an amazing heroine, growing from the helpless, naive girl in the first book to a courageous warrior with a heart of gold that even yokai and the gods could respect. I had such a wild ride of a time going on this journey with her, and watching her forge bonds with those that she had always been warned about. Her and Shiro’s story should be illegal for how many emotions it pulled out of me. From giggling and kicking my feet to tears leaking out of my eye ducts at 12:30 in the morning. Everything about this series was everything I could’ve asked for, and it really is a bittersweet feeling to be done reading it. Of course as always…Yumei is the shadow of my life, and will remain the shadows of my life forever along with Selwyn Kane. That is all.

An epic ending to this trilogy - really enjoyed it! It was explosive.

Emi and Shiro grow so much as a couple in this one, really building on their connect from the previous books. (Well, there's one scene that reminded me of Mr Darcy's initial proposal, way to go Emi for putting a foot in it! But nonetheless, a cute couple.)

The final battle had all the right stakes, and as morbid as it is, the death scene is handled well. At least, if there's a stake in the life or death of a character, Marie gives the characters enough time for the loss to be felt.

Immortal fire has a good combination of action and character development, as well as romance.

Overall, I really did enjoy this trilogy. It was so fun buddying this series with Marguerite!

Immortal Fire book 3 in the Red Winter series by Annette Marie was everything I hope for and more. Annette did a fantastic job on character build and world build for this series. I literally found myself going through all the emotions. Even crying in some parts. The artwork is beautiful as always! I love it. Love how all of the characters made a return for the last book. Very nice touch. The ending I think was perfect. This series is in my top two favorites.

An excellent end to the trilogy, but there is a mildly explicit sex scene. I feel like this makes the books inappropriate for me to recommend them to actual young adults. The reader on the audiobook was good. She pronounced the Japanese well and caught some girly vocal mannerisms you hear in movies.
