I saw this on my library's Overdrive, and as a queer Christian slowly finding my place in my faith again, thought it would be affirming and welcoming.

This is not that book. It appears to be, but it affirms that queer people have a place in the church, as sisters and brothers, friends, and yes, wives and husbands, if you can build a bond worthy of marriage with the opposite wex.

It offers a plea to Evangelicals to accept those gay people who will not act on their gayness, or those who do and then repent of their ain and resist it moving forward.

Everyone is different and I've no dount that the author's journey was what she needed, but it can be damaging for those who don't see it the same way, especially those who aren't confident that there is room for their queerness and their faith. TThishis

This book hurt my feelings, but sometimes books do that. Those who believe in the same God and Christ I do hurt my feelings all the time, so it's not new. Luckily there are several teachers I have found lately that have encouraged me to keep doing the work. This book and its author is not among them.
