Eva, the FMC, was a cop thatโs been through hell and honestly wants to help people, but had a bit of a naive belief in the system. Her world and the people in it were filled with dark secrets. Enter the vengeful assassin Derek, the MMC, he was disconnected, pessimistic, morally gray, and ready to burn the world down.
The two of them had a hot and immediate attraction but the powers that be wanted to keep them apart. Derek fell the first time he saw her in a picture and his determination to make Eva his was hot. I loved the angsty banter and chemistry between them.
I enjoyed the audio for this one, it was a dual audio but the kind where the narrators traded off reading chapters not individual lines. Even though it wasnโt my favorite type of dual I still really enjoyed the narrators and thought they both did a great job.

The conflict is pretty flat. Spice level was high, but not enough to make up for the lack of compelling character growth.
