I wanted to cry at some places. Not even the sad places but after she meets her husband because the whole thing plays out like a film where he's a little overwhelmed by her world but he sees the good in her and there's so much good in Ms. Pat. It's like watching a sitcom for 10 seasons and finally seeing the lead win without the other shoe dropping. The first half of this book is sad in a "she was a kid who deserved better" but it's this weird double edged sword because you can teach a child better but there's always outside influences at bay but she made it through and become my favorite comedian and the star of my favorite sitcom The Ms Pat Show

This book was just fine. I do not know Ms. Pat's work and I think that may be why I'm so meh about the story. It sounds just like every other celebrity who grew up in Atlanta. If you are a fan of hers, I encourage you to read/listen to it. Ms. Pat overcame a lot of adversity.

When I started this book, I knew right away that I was in for a long emotional ride, and I was right! I learned about Ms. Pat late, but when I found out she had a book. I had to read it. The only thing was I listened to the audiobook, and at first, I was put off by her reading the book, but I got used to it and eventually was cool.

A decent read. Glad Ms. Pat could find the humor in her struggles.

Read it because David Sedaris talked about it on Marc Maron’s podcast.

I have never heard of Ms. Pat, or "Rabbit", a family name given to her by her mother when she was a child. But now, I feel like I want to meet her, give her a hug, and thank her for sharing her story with the world. While there are many of us readers who will not be able to relate directly to her experience, you can relate to her tenacity, big heart, desire to be loved and accepted, and so much more. Her stories are often heartbreaking, with large heaps of sarcasm and humor added.

This was a quick and enjoyable read, and should she put out more work, I will definitely be purchasing. #HappyReading
