Man I just have such a love/hate relationship with this series. Firstly, I thought it was a trilogy so I'm pretty salty I get to the last few chapters of book 3 and I'm like "oh fuck, this isn't going to be a trilogy is it?"

Now I love LOVE the spice scenes. Holy hellfire, they were hot. I love Sammy! He's such a spitfire, sassy, cute little snake and I love how much he adores Astrea. And Lucifer? Perfect Devil Daddy. The enemies to lovers was done perfectly and I really love Rea and Lucifer's dynamic.

Overall, I'd give this 3 stars because of the love/hate I have with parts of this series. All that said, I honestly don't think I'll finish the series since I read wayy too much and normally I'm good at choosing finished series for that reason - cause unfinished? By the time the next book comes out I'll have forgotten mostly everything and it's too much hassel to try figuring out what happened before.

The bad? Is pretty heavy for me though.

****SPOILERS!!!****

- Abbadon? I mean he was essentially her father from the sounds of it? He found her as a babe and raised her. So him being a love interest? I just can't do it. And there was like no buildup to it really, in the first book everytime she talks about him it's in a familial way like her brothers. Then out of nowhere in the lust trials she's lusting after him and it spirals from there and it was just weird for me.
- On that note, my Gods I hated how Rae had no fucking control over her libido? She fights tooth and nail her entire life (besides with Jack) to not fuck anyone during her heats, she fights Lucifer. And then she falls into the lust trial trap easily and fucks 3 incubus, then has no control with wanting to jump Abbadon, then none once she's near Zachraiel. It was messy.
- The amount of S.A and r@pe being an okay thing among angels was appalling to say the least. Maybe a handful being okay with that? Sure. But literally EVERY high ranking angel? Her father and Zach calling her a whore/slut and degrading her for being married to Lucifer but want to actively whore her out to EVERY sephram, force her to breed, and force her into a marriage and not one angel batted their eyes besides her family? I don't mind angels being the bad guys but damn that was just..wow.
- The cheating? Now look I LOVE reverse harem/why choose books and I saw in the beginning intro that's what this would be. However the way it's done is a big no for me. Lucifer actively cheats because "it's how I seal alliances". He's the Devil? The King? He could change that..at the very least he should've talked to Rae about it so she wasn't blindsided. Then Rae with Abbadon. And Luci with Jack. I also don't mind a RH where the guys struggle with the dynamic. But *usually* there's still no cheating. They still AGREE to everything even if they struggle and still have jealousy. She kisses and fools around with Abbadon literally right after she married Lucifer and her people were being slaughtered. Like? Really? I hated how both her and Lucifer were all "you can't be with anyone else" but then both actively fucked other people WITHOUT talking to each other. So to me - that's cheating. Now by the time she actually fucks Abbadon, Lucifer hands her off to him and agrees to it. But, she'd fooled around enough without his consent. And she kept claiming through out book 1 how she wasn't a "one person angel" which cool, fine. But she never ONCE spoke those words TO Lucifer. She just told him she wasn't about ownership. And for her to be like that then get mad when she finds out he was sleeping with other people was hypocritical. It was again..messy.
- On that same topic, it's obvious Apolloyon and Jack are going to be part of the harem too most likely and just..why?! We're going into a fourth book. There have only been a HANDFUL of scenes with Jack. He had a thing with Rae literally 60+ years ago. He fucks her husband without her knowing. There's been no buildup to their relationship NOW. That's a no for me. You don't need to add another peeson 4 books in. And as for Apolloyon..he literally r@ped her. She calls it r@pe. I also get noncon but..that wasn't that. She only *consented* because she wanted to get it over with and he threatened her.
- Speaking of Apollo, how the fuck did he even speak to her father to be set free? He was literally bound to Lucifer. Inside Lucifer's body. And no, I don't see how it could've happened in the astral realm when they specified the only reason he could visit Rae there was because of her bond with Lucifer and Apollo being bound to Lucifer. Made no sense. Or how Lucifer had *no idea* he was free and was surprised. Bro you were actively leashing him and suddenly you're not..you don't feel that? You're not concerned?
- Why the hell did her father let her meet her sister? That whole thing made no sense either. He wasn't surprised she followed then said "they said I couldn't tell you but never that you couldn't find out for yourself". Then left them alone together. He's literally the bas guy lmao. That whole interaction/scene made no sense.
- At the end of book 3, Rae loses her memories. I *think* Lucifer didn't realize. But how did her sister and Jack know? She literally had JUST lost her memories minutes before in the astral realm. How could they possibly know about that? It was implied her sister knew *everything* but only in that she knew alot of what happened over the 10k years she was trapped in that room because she had live feeds to like..everywhere in the world and could watch. 1) I don't think that includes the astral realm and 2) even if it did, she was already out of the room at that point, so she still couldn't have seen Rae lose her memories?
- Speaking of the sister..uh did I misunderstand something? Cause I was under the impression if she left that room she'd die automatically? Her & Rae did not find a way to cure her so how is she out? Or is it a slow process?
- Maybe it's just me but, how stupid are these angels?! So female seraphs died 10k years ago due to a plague. Only males are born now. To me that means, seraph + angel = male seraph. So everyone's all losing their shit that Rae is a female seraph and the first in 10k years and not sick so all the seraphs/her father want to r@pe her and force her to breed - I'm assuming because they hope she'll birth more female seraphs. Again they were cursed for taking over heaven from the Gods to not have female seraphs. So it doesn't make sense to me that a seraph + seraph would = female seraph. It seems like seraphs mating with other angels (of any kind) = either male seraphs or other normal angels. Never female seraph. Rae however was born to a seraph and DEMONESS. So why the fuck don't they try mating with more female demons? To me it's kind of obvious that more than likely the Gods cursed them to never have more female seraphs unless they got off their high horses and mingled with demons/non angels. Which is why when the first seraph did such - a female seraph was born. Also, funny how her father looks down on her for marrying Lucifer but he mated LILITH! The audacity?!
- Also I honestly do not understand Azreal and Apolloyon. So I get that Apolloyon was his own enity and Lucifer bound him to his being to control him. That makes sense. However what doesn't make sense is how Apolloyon is somehow also connected to Abbadon? Nor does it make sense how Azreal is also another enity? The whole "Abbadon was Azreal until his soul was cleaved in half and he's been looking for it ever since til it entered Rae and now it is it's own enity" doesn't make a lick of sense to me.
- Also doesn't make sense how Rae was a normal angel her life then out of nowhere she becomes both a seraph and "unlocks" Azreal being inside her. Azreal (when it was Abbadon) was not a seraph. So Rae unlocking/waking up Azreal and her becoming a seraph alao makes no sense to me. I guess this can still be answered at some point later on.
- I get Rae and her brothers aren't actually related but Rae and her sister are. But she literally said her and her sister look like twins aside from their hair colors and skin. So it was just super weird to me her brothers were drooling all over her sister lol

This book was a whirlwind! I definitely had to go back and read some stuff a couple times. If you love fantasy and read a lot of it those series is for you, I don’t think beginner fantasy readers should start here. There’s a lot that goes on in this series and a lot of characters. That being said this book is amazing! There is lots of twists and turns that will make you keep reading. Astraea is such a strong FMC and doesn’t need anyone’s help. I loved reading Abaddons perspective more this book though I do miss my Luci. I’m still trying to wrap my head around everything that just happened I’m ready for book four!

I’m not even sure what it was, but I found myself skimming a lot. I know I read quite a few “smutty” books but this is pages upon pages of smut scenes both in the FMC’s reality and in a dream-like state, with not enough plot to keep the story moving.  I’ll come back to it eventually.

On that ending! When Emily says she's going to wreck you she absolutely means it. The world building Emily creates is absolutely amazing. The twists and turns that happen throughout the book have you hooked from the start. And just when you think there can't be anything else there's three more twists. I'm so devastated I have to wait for the next but book I know it will be worth it! But man that ending!
