I wasn't sure what I expected but it definitely wasn't this story.
I was 100% at the edge of my seat and had no clue what was going on.
I normally do not enjoy this particular trope but I believe it was pretty well done as I slowly connected links.

the last house on needless street is a horror novel full of mystery, and i'm not going to give a summary of it purely because i think going into this book blind is just about the best thing you can do. the main thing is that it's about ted, his cat, his daughter, and their neighbor who thinks ted is super suspicious.
the plot was very entertaining to me and there were for sure aspects of it that i didn't predict, which i always appreciate. i really loved the gothic elements of this novel because i'm a huge fan of gothic literature in general.
the author is a truly skilled writer - i can tell how much effort and attention to detail went into creating this wonderful work. it was perfectly eerie in atmosphere and i loved how enchanting it all felt. i honestly can't wait to reread this just so i can find more little details to adore.
i'd recommend this to anyone who likes to be surprised, and also anyone who likes going into a book while knowing very little about it beforehand.
and of course, i have to say that i absolutely loved the cat with all my heart.
