Hacía mucho mucho tiempo que no leía ningún libro de esta saga, y la verdad es que éste me ha gustado más que los anteriores, quizás precisamente por esa desconexión.
El elemento sobrenatural con los fantasmas no me ha disgustado. Si no quieres tirar por esa explicación, no tienes por qué creerla, no es indispensable.

This is a dark tale of murder, mixed up with cocaine use, wife beating and police searching for answers to two murders. The plot moves along very slowly, as Patrik Hedstrom and his crew of police detectives try to piece together how the two murders are connected. There are a couple of subplots, a million dollar renovation of a coastal resort with a manipulative woman in charge of finances and a historical tale of unexplained deaths linked to present day ghost stories. While the ending did resolve all the plots, it took a long time to get there. There is more than one suspect, so the suspense holds throughout most of the book.

a consistent series, lots of side discussion about the characters lives, not as gory as some of the other Swedish series.

Not my favorite by this author but still good. I enjoyed the Patrick and Erica storyline quite a bit and the mystery less so.

A bit too predictable, even for Lackberg. Some loose ends were not resolved. I just wanted to finish this one to confirm what I already knew.

Another great novel by Camilla Lackberg. The Lost Boy is intriguing, thrilling, and mysterious. This novel is a bit more sad, compared to her previous works, especially with regards to the main characters’ personal lives. The story centers around the murder of Mats, a businessman who has recently moved back into town. There’s also a new spa opening and a woman who has recently moved back to Ghost Isle, the secluded island with a lighthouse. For most of the book it’s difficult to see how these different locations and people’s lives connect. Bit by bit the author weaves the story lines together, creating a satisfying but intriguing journey towards solving the multiple mysteries. As with the author’s other novels, the stories alternate between the past and present. Ghost Isle is especially intriguing. The author is great at capturing the natural beauty of Sweden, especially with the secluded island and lighthouse. Her magnificent use of the settings really takes her writing to the next level. On a more personal note, I really liked that we were able to learn more about sisters, Anna and Erica. Their personalities and character development were given time to be explored. As per usual, I thoroughly enjoyed Camilla Lackberg’s latest book, The Lost Boy. Quality work from a quality author. I look forward to reading more of her novels in the future.

Ich könnte das Buch ehrlicherweise nicht einmal zusammenfassen, wenn ich wollte, also vermutlich sollte man auf meine Einschätzung nicht viel geben, weil ich viel zu unaufmerksam war, aber von dem, was ich mitbekommen habe, war es mir leider viel zu langweilig, und außerdem war ich komplett von den Namen überfordert. Ich könnte nicht einmal genau sagen, wie viele Figuren wirklich in dem Buch vorkamen, weil sich so viele Namen geähnelt haben und Figuren und Szenen abgewechselt, und ich war verdammt schnell überfordert.
Außerdem gab es sehr viele Szenen, die nicht direkt mit dem Fall zu tun hatten (glaube ich), gefühlt unendlich viele Kinder (auch wenn ich mich da erneut täuschen könnte) und die einzigen Szenen, die ich wirklich spannend zu lesen fand, waren die zur Vergangenheit, wobei die mir aber inhaltlich nicht gefallen haben.
Also vermutlich/vielleicht in Ordnung, mich hat das Buch leider recht am Angang verloren und dann nie wieder richtig eingefangen.
Außerdem gab es sehr viele Szenen, die nicht direkt mit dem Fall zu tun hatten (glaube ich), gefühlt unendlich viele Kinder (auch wenn ich mich da erneut täuschen könnte) und die einzigen Szenen, die ich wirklich spannend zu lesen fand, waren die zur Vergangenheit, wobei die mir aber inhaltlich nicht gefallen haben

Very very dark, and very very good.
I read nearly all 400 pages in one sitting.
Don't usually like eerie glimpses into the past but these were short if not sweet and things were tied up nicely with a twist I honest to god did not see coming.
Much more love from the characters we love and, though not easy, a realistic look at the lives some women lead.
