So the final book of this series wasn't as good as the penultimate. I enjoyed this series but, as always with Murakami, there are long expanses of nothing, and unanswered questions that leave you partially unsatisfied.

There is an always present evil entity in this story that has no proper definition. This creates an ominous atmosphere and suspense that keeps you at the edge of your seat. Nothing seems to happen, yet you start to question every single event or action, and start wondering if you should read in between the lines of every sentence. The questions always outweigh the answers yet the story is both incredibly simple but absurdly complex.
A beautiful story that works with the simplest things out of our every day lives but eats away at your imagination by twisting reality just the slightest, leaving you with the sense that you read an incomprehensible story that leaves room for endless interpretations.

This book 4/5
The trilogy 4,5/5

for a last book in the series it made such a great build up, and I was expecting a much deeper ending. it was too underwhelming, it was cut off to roughly, there were some bit i did not understand the meaning of, I thought I would feel satisfied, i am a bit angry <watching the moon, there were soo many thing they could check>!!!!!!!!!

i should mention i liked <the cat town> soooo sooo much, so beautifully written, i loved it
