It's been a while between me reading this graphic novel and writing my review so my memory of it is a bit hazy. But what I do remember is a world unlike another I've read.
The drawing style alone is beautiful. Which makes the gruesome images it depicts even more unsettling.
The story is also intriguing and I felt myself wanting to know more and more about this world.
This novel does not hold back at all, which I found refreshing. It wasn't being violent for the sake of it but instead to emphasise the abhorrent attitudes and beliefs of those in power.
