A year after the Shadow brothers left Lilith Maverick and Dreary Shadows Academy, the fae witch has spent her time studying how to control her newfound powers.

Despite having befriended two savage wolves, Ezra Fowler and Blade Vanderwood, the town is crawling with supernatural creatures who’d love nothing more than to taste Lilith.

Dreary Shadows Part II takes a number of unexpected twists and turns. I loved the details we learn about Lilith’s witchy lineage and the history of the various supernatural creatures. Each member of the harem is unique and I enjoy their perspectives, not to mention the introduction of Zeus and the certifiable Gunnar.

I was expecting another brutal cliffy, but it’s not. That said, I am still on the edge of my seat waiting to see how Lil’s story is going to come together.

the author totally lost the plot w this book especially when adding gunnar and his friend into the rh (making it a total of 7 guys😵‍💫). lilith has 0 connection or chemistry with them so i just don’t understand their point in being in the book. that and it just being straight smut with no plot completely turned me away. i had saurrr much hope for this series so im sad it turned to shit that quickly. i’m also sad i didn’t get to see lilith as a vampire with control of her fae witch powers, but i just cannot force myself to read anymore.

Dreary Shadows Part Two picks up one year after the guys left Lilith on her own to control her new powers. Ezra and Blade is more than her best friends, they become her protectors when supernatural comes for her. Then Zeus and Gunnar show up and the blood hits fan

I couldn't wait to jump into this book after the guys left our girl high and dry at the ending of the first book. I was heartbroken for her after their whirlwind romance.
Only to be let down rather quickly.

The guys were gone for a year, and during that year Lil still had her wolves. Who seem to have been immediately friendzoned. But then Lilith makes a drastic decision that changes everything and was the start of the downfall of the book for me. Since she’s mated her actions in my opinion shouldn’t have been something she was able to do so easily.
Things escalate and the guys come back. But when they come back it doesn’t seem like their bond is there, it there’s not much pull to be with each other. Even though she’s angry I felt like the bond would have still pulled her to want to be around him. We learned a bit more about lil and and the secrets from her past.

There’s definitely lots of steam, and I was glad to see her spend some time with a few of the other guys.

There was some twists and turns, but I didn’t find there to be much relationship building between her and the guys after they came back. I’m not sure if that had to do with the drama the new characters brought or something else. But I’m hoping there will be more in the next book.

I absolutely love the original guys, this book only added to my love for Chaos and the changes in their relationship. He was my favorite in book one and he continued to be in this book. He seems like the one that needs the most love and the biggest push, and he was given that! I love when one of the guys pushes back for the longest time but turns out to be such a sucker for her. The way chaos craves being with her was absolutely delectable but it didn't compare to when he caved.

There wasn’t a cliffy, but I have so many questions after this book that I’m ready for the next.

Well, I think I'm done with this series.

I was thinking about putting it on hold, but now I don't see myself picking it up again anytime soon.
Look, I don't have a problem with sex scenes in my books, but I also want a good story to go with them. Unfortunately, in this series, I felt like the focus was more on that than the actual plot.

What to expect:
∘ Vampires, witches, shapeshifters
∘ FMC with an attitude problem
∘ Alphaholes as love interests
∘ M/M Romance scenes
Tropes:
∘ Reverse Harem
∘ Enemies to Lovers
∘ Insta-Love/Lust

After the first book set the stage for the story, I was hoping that the second book would build on that foundation and offer more in terms of plot development. But instead, what I got was a continuation of the focus on the protagonist's romantic relationships, with more vampires joining her harem and lots of steamy scenes. Now, don't get me wrong, I don't mind those scenes, but I just didn't feel like there was enough substance to the plot to keep me interested.
Also, there were suddenly more vampires joining the protagonist's harem, and it felt like it came out of nowhere.

I was hoping for more exploration of the world, but instead, I got more of the same. Overall, I was pretty disappointed with the book, and I doubt I'll be continuing with the series anytime soon.

Dreary Shadows Pt 2 and it has been a year since the Shadow brothers left Lilith and Dreary Shadows. During this time she has been studying how to control her new witch powers.

She is bonded to Cain, and as he is not near her she is suffering physically. We get introduced to two new vampires, Zeus and Gunnar. To ease her pain she lets Gunnar bite her and as a result of this, the brothers return.

She is still friends with wolves, Ezra and Blade, yet the town is still filled with creatures who’d want nothing more than to taste Lilith.

Pt 2 is filled with some unexpected twists and turns. We learn about Lilith’s lineage and the history of numerous supernatural creatures.

So the harem of 5 becomes 7. Will Ezra and Blade end up joining?? Hopefully this and other questions will be answered in Pt 3.

There is another cliffhanger, but it's not as bad as the one in Pt 1.

Love this WhyChoose PNR!

Man I was not ready for this book to end! I have so many questions about Lilith (FMC) and her abilities. The guys are just my kind of perfect blend personalities for a Whychoose romance. This series truly knows how to keep the spicy going too. Really looking forward to the next book. Darker PNR CW/18+ 4.5/stars
