This was an entertaining enough read! Was not a fan of the
Spoiler borderline sexual assault
at all, though. I feel like that did not have to have a place here and could have lead to the conflict in another less violating way. If it weren't for that aspect, this probably would have been more above a 4⭐ for me. I enjoyed how it was different from the show, though I still pictured the shows characters the whole time which also made it more interesting for me.

SpoilerIt was an okay book. The banter between Simon and Daphne was cute and also the pining.

But the sexy scenes of them finally being together (wedding night) weren’t that great ESPECIALLY when Daphne forced herself onto Simon. It would’ve been a higher rating if Daphne didn’t force herself onto Simon just to have a baby I did like the ending a cute way to forgive each other and Simon finally getting over the whole revenge on his father.

My problems with the book are the lack of stakes within Daphne's search for a husband which makes their whole plan kind of pointless, the Duke's entire personality in Chapter 17, the lack of any real fallout from the event in Chapter 18, and the lack of a presence of other characters in their lives.

Meh. It wasn’t for me. I was hoping for a beautiful regency piece but it wasn’t at all what I hoped for.
I thought the writing was mediocre but it was good enough for a palate cleanser. I’m unlikely to pick up anything else in this world.

If you enjoy shallow, feel-good, short, romance, then you should pick this up. If you’re hoping for deep plot lines then skip this.
