i want to go flying in a glass elevator that breaks through the roof. how much a year do you think willy wonka spends on repairing the ceiling after breaking it?

A completely unnecessary fever dream of a book. It was a thinly veiled mockery of the US/Soviet space race and just plain dumb. Compared to Dahl’s other books, which were far more fun and thoughtful, this was a disaster and disappointment.

Not the greatest Dahl. But still entertaining.

Even if it's goofy, I do not like space books

Boring...Disappointing...Unnecessary. I've just read this book and even if you put a gun to my head I couldn't say anything about it besides the fact that it's the sequel to Charlie and the chocolate factory.

Um....strange and fun? I am sure they wanted to make a movie about it, but there is no way.

Totally expendable: the only two things that were worth it was the list of ingredients from the pill vitamin and the syrup to make one grow old. The Space Hotel, Knids, Minusland, and other elements are intended to be cute, but end up being completely extra.

His sense of humour deflates greatly in this book because it feels forced upon the reader. Wonka goes from being a jolly weirdo to a flat lined wacko.

I've always loved Roald Dahl's books and this one brings me back to the time I first read Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I'm just sad we never get to find out what happens to Charlie and Willy Wonka and the rest. And of course the factory and the Ooompa-Loompas are lovely too and I'll miss them.
