LOVE this book. Such a heartbreaking thing happened to an average girl. I enjoyed it and adored the characters, although I wish the author would have gone more in-depth into the idea of forced victims-turned-activists. That's more of a personal interest thing though.

I will say there is often a lack of nuance in this story. But, I think we’re at the point with such themes where we *need* them to be discussed plainly and with conviction. This was an amazing book.

It’s a difficult read for sure, especially if you’ve experienced sexual violence, toxic relationships or stalking, or been affected by gun violence. I would highly recommend it but please read content warnings and make a decision based on what you personally can handle and what headspace you’re in going into this book.

This was such a powerful, inspiring, beautiful story about a young girl who goes through something traumatic but keeps going. She doesn't know how she's going to keep living, but she knows she has to. She has to do something. Her voice needs to be heard. She needs to take back her life and feel in control again. This was a very strong story and I think it's important that it was told. I would look up trigger warnings before reading though.

Such an important read. I won’t go into details because it’s technically a spoiler but this talks about two very important issues that happen way to often in the US. The reason it’s not a five star is just because the writing style was off for me. I don’t know why but I felt like I couldn’t fully connect to the characters. I also wish some of Annabelles family was in it more and we got to see her relationship with them but I understand that she had to go through this journey by herself mostly. I did tear up at the end when she made her speech .
