I cried multiple times in this book so I guess I’d say I cared about the characters. Or maybe I was just identifying with their feelings. In any case I enjoyed this book for the way it made me think about life, relationships and mortality but the
ending was so sad to me. I guess I wanted things to magically work out. I mean Amy dying too!?! 😫
But I guess that also was to impart a lesson, maybe the main lesson of the book - we don’t know what’s coming in life so live it with purpose.

This book makes you think about everything, I love the real world ties and how realistic everyone reactions are I know how I think I would react if given the chance and how I think I would react with the knowledge I get but I can see everyone’s perspectives.

This book was a lot!! It also followed many characters and it was hard to keep track of everyone until the circle of connection became clear but even then i felt like it almost needed to be longer so we could really remember each character individually. Anyway, this book explored many different angles on if the whole worlds population was delivered a box that if opened would tell them exactly how long they had left to live. The choices, options, POVs, political implications (legal and electoral), romantic prospects, career limitations, families, friendships etc that are all effected by the strings. There are endless what ifs that could have been speculatively written about in this book (which is again why i thought it could have been longer) and we see a lot of those things play out through our 8-12 characters.

One of my favorite story lines was with Maura and Nina

Sweet book with poignant and interesting message. The idea was very interesting and I liked how the characters’ stories intersected. The early parts of the book dragged a bit for me and I found some of the plot points to be a bit obvious, but the parallels to current issues and the stories overall kept me flying through it.

Wow. I have SO many questions that will never be answered, but I think that’s exactly how I am supposed to feel. I think everyone should read this book at least once regardless of your background.

Don’t listen to the audiobook while driving. My eyes needed to have windshield wipers by the end.
