sonicmooks's review against another edition
5.0
Barry Hannah can pack more punch, more depth, more emotion, more awe in to a single sentence than most writers achieve in entire novels. Reading his work is both revelatory and depressing, especially if you have vague notions of yourself as a writer, because you know that you will never achieve such great heights, and it can seem almost silly to try. Tilting at windmills?
A huge, wonderful, joyful, depressing, graphic, violent, tender, loving, spiteful, mysterious, enlightened, sexy, rough, poignant and mirthful collection. Should be required reading for everyone with a pulse.
