Ritrovato in un vecchio scatolone. È stato piacevole ritrovare Rei e Kira dopo tanti anni.

This is the most riveting and interesting romance manga that I've read all year. I find it a pain a lot of the time to read romance mangas since most of the time I find the leading lady a bore. She's always either too clingy, too wimpy, too self-aware and selfless. It's not that I hate those kinds of girls, since I'm sure they exist and that they're not half as bad as they seem. But they do get annoying. In this series, Kira is not like that. In fact, she's really strong for a 'weak' character. What's more she doesn't push her relationship, nor does she push it away. She doesn't think stupidly. Everything that comes from her mouth or head is sensible - or sensible according to her character and everything she does is relatively reasonable (not too stupid and not too out of character).

Rei is the hot counterpart. He begins as a stereotypical male manga protagonist whose ridiculously cool and popular and a total playboy. Even when he's protecting Kira, he's comes off as relatively ordinary. But then I see this other darker side to him. And it's not just a black and white image, but a figure with several shades to him. Rei gets darker and darker as the chapters go on. He's a little deformed and his character is scary in portrayal, yet between him and Kira there's a bond that doesn't seem forced or necessary. What I mean is, most romance mangas eventually shove Miss A and Mr B together within the first volume after several misunderstandings.

Between Kira and Rei, there aren't any misunderstandings. Just realisations. It's almost like a "true love" feeling, yet, I don't feel grossed out by the mushiness or feel annoyed that it's contrived. In fact, it feels natural. I feel like they should be together and that they have this weird bond that holds them together. I really liked this method of storytelling. I really started cheering for them. I liked that each of them had their interests (though partway, due to the various arcs, these are only spoken about rather than explored, which did annoy me for a bit).

I used to really hate dramas because they were always so dramatic, but for a while now I've realised if a drama is written really well, then a writer can really learn a lot about plot twists and turns from them. This manga had heaps. And for once there wasn't that many love triangles or third parties involved.

If I was to compare this to another manga, I would say read this over Heart by Rie Takada . That manga also advertises a similar, delinquent motorcycle riding male protag and an innocent-like female protag. I was really disappointed in that one, it annoyed me to no end, the only thing delectable about it was the male protag. I would have liked the female protag if she was less stupid. But this one is guaranteed to impress, all the characters are believable and multi-faceted. The themes are really heavy and it's been categorised as mature and psychological, which I suppose was another reason for me to love this even more. There was just so much depth. I cannot stop gushing because it was just that great.

Fuyumi Soryo I think did a wonderful job with this. I'm surprised I didn't pick this up earlier. Then again I only found out about it via Yahoo ask (or whatever it's called). And I'm so glad I did.

A bit teenage-y angsty, in that over-the-top melodramatic way. But amusing.

Amazingly done. I really liked this one!! It’s silly in moments but it is overall a fairly serious manga. I liked the art student aspect of it!

(Side Note: this is really bugging me and you all probably know this, but they said that kissing is just an everyday thing in America that family and friends do. That is so incorrect. We are kind of the opposite)
