This book is less than 300pg and it took me days to get through. I hate the
Spoilerinsta-love and insta-friend
tropes and this was full of them. Normally I like fast-paced books but this was way too fast. Everything just instantly happened. The LI says he'll tell her his secrets "one day". I didn't think that would mean
Spoilerliterally the next day
. It didn't feel like the story was happening but rather like things were just happening. I'm not sure how to really explain it beyond that. I just didn't feel like I was a part of the story. It felt like I was just reading words and that's it. It's excessively fast-paced but also incredibly boring, predictable, and infuriating at the same time.

Great debut for this new series. I had a wonderful time reading this story. Well written with an interesting plot and great worldbuilding.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am volontarily leaving a review.
