A good 3.5* read for me.
The furthering tales of Jory and Sam - I think in this one Sam frustrated me more than Jory - a first!
Jory is known now - a bit (lot) madcap, loyal to his friends, prone to do what he wants when he wants, frustrating, loving. And at 35 still most of these things though kids have evened him out a bit.
Sam and Jory have been together over 11 (or 14 yrs, not quite sure but a long time) and you'd think by now that Sam would know what triggers Jory - keeping secrets, being told what to do or what not to do. Yes, Jory does seem to get involved in more trouble, shoot outs, accidents than anyone else alive but as he says, largely not his fault! And I thought in this installment he was portrayed as more responsble. Sam just keeps shouting and controlling, actually just like Dane - maybe Jory has to be his unconventional self just to breathe.
Whilst there is a mystery/who dunnit element to the story, it is mostly about the development of their family life, and baring some short freebies, the last Jory/Sam update I think.

But for You was what I have come to expect from the Matter of Time series. What made this one of my if not my favorite of the series was the kids, I was laughing so hard I had tears in more than one spot.

Surprisingly I really enjoyed this. Although I love this world and Jory and Sam. Once we got to the happy ever after and settled couple, I thought I would find this boring. But it was really interesting and the kids were so Jory and Sam's kids. I did find that as the series progressed I loved all the characters more and more except Dane, who was one of my favs in books one and two! But overall still really great.

I was waiting for a good moment to read the book....
...but when the audiobook came to me I couldn't resist it!!!
It was all I wanted, read Jory and Sam again warmed my heart, I missed them and I wanted to see more of their story after their HEA...
I'm completely satisfied, again Mary Calmes draged me to her world of words and love...
I<3U Mary

I continue to LOVE LOVE LOVE Jory and Sam. Jory's theatrics made me laugh, Sam's sweetness made me sigh, and them with a family made me melt. Glad to have more of these guys!!!

I have to apologize to Mary for giving the book three stars. It is a very good book, if you are looking for a family story. Kids are cute and adorable and there are a lot of them in more ways than one - a lot of kids going to school and on vacation and doing cute and adorable things with their friends and with their parents which takes up more than half the book. I guess it is necessary to show us how well everything worked out for Sam and Jory in the end. And I am very happy for them as well as Dane and Aja.
But this is not why I bought the book. I wanted more adventure, more scatterbrain Jory, I wanted to know what happened to Jory's friends who were no small part of the previous books (I am talking about those friends who did not end up having kids) - that sort of thing. But the only one who made it was Aaron, for the sole purpose of buying Jory a new car and doing a tiny bit of a background check on Kevin... oh, and fall in love with Duncan, who - surprise! - was gay and in the closet (this time the book could have easily done without Jory's attempt at matchmaking). Even Dane and Sam had very little presence throughout the book; they where popping in and out for a couple of pages here and there only to scowl or growl at domesticated Jory. By the way, does he even have a job anymore? I can't remember what with trying to keep track of all the kids and family members. Also, how many friends of his own does Jory still have? O.o
Everywhere Jory went, trouble found him, which I thought was a little bit on the "unbelievable" side. Even book 1 was not that bad. Now it seems that half the world is out to get him just because. Everyone of any importance turned out to be gay or have multiple kids or both. I was skimming through the book like crazy. :(
Still, I love Sam and Jory and would probably read the first 5 books again. Just not this one.
3 stars.
