I’m reviewing this for NetGalley.
Made for Each Other is the second book to the My Boyfriend is a Monster series. Maria McBride goes to William H. Seward High School and plays the violin with the band. It is revealed that her parents had died in a car accident, so she lives with her aunt, Sophie. Three girls that went to this high school died in a car accident as well. Maria literally bumps into a new student, Tom Stone. Tom walks in on Maria playing the violin and nearly kisses her. Maria is definitely hooked now, but Tom brushes her off. This causes her to become discouraged until she discovers his shocking secret.
I like this book and found several moments pretty funny. I wasn’t thrilled with the graphics, but in a way, the illustrations added a spookier element to the book.

The best part of this graphic novel are the references to the melodrama and Romantic literary techniques in Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. Well played!

This was not nearly as enjoyable as the first of the series. Nonetheless, the art is still good at least. The plot utterly lacking.

This was a cute, modern take on the classic Frankenstein story. The tone is light and playful. And overall, the book is a quick, easy read. There's not a lot of depth to it, but it does offer good Halloween vibes.

Fun, easy to read, graphic novel for teens. I liked the first one better than this one, but just by a little bit. This one is based on Frankenstein.

I'm really liking these little GNs. The characters are fun, the horror tales reimagined are fun and they're just campy enough to be, well, fun. I would rate it higher except the art is fairly standard and the story depth is quite shallow and the appeal veers more female but what a fun book to hand to a reluctant reader.
