This book is charming, funny, and delightful until the very last page, which shows a meteorite falling out of the sky towards the partying dinosaurs. NO! Unacceptable. That kind of dark humor will appeal to school-age kids and up, but this is a picture book for little children, and that kind of ending is totally inappropriate, especially since it comes out of nowhere. There's no way for a parent reading this to a child to predict that the story is going there until they turn the last page and see it happening.

I was seriously considering reading this for my royalty-themed storytime, but the last page ruins it. If I do read this, I'll simply stop with the previous page, which works as an ending with all of the dinosaurs celebrating. However, that would leave the parents unaware of how the book really ends, so it's best to go with something else entirely.
