Liked the way this built on Leopold, and really liked seeing some of Mastrodai's perspective. Leopold and Mastrodai's relations continues to build and develop and I really liked seeing
some real backlash from Mastrodai's coersion of Leopold in Book 1
.

The worldbuilding stuff from book 1 continues (how could it not), and we get hit with some heavy gender essentialism and a bit of outright sexism which is a def turn off, but light enough not to ruin my enjoyment and somewhat excusable given it mostly involved the Mrrog who are literally a different species which more sexual dimorphism than humans have.

the one big negative for me was the flashbacks, which run really long and slow the story down. Engaging and interesting the first time you read them, but on re-read it's just 'okay, can we get on with it?'

Bringing in Alex was wonderful, letting us get a deeper look into the world of the human slaves and learn about human colonies and existence outside of Leopold's abusive upbringing. And the transition from couple to throuple, the building distinct relationships between Leo and Alex, and Mastrodai and Alex, all really well handled and believeable and I can't wait to see where it goes next.

All in all, not as quite good as Leopold, but still a good read and looking forward to book 3. I still want more Myxn.
