Reminds me of when I read The Death of a Salesman in high school and my salesman father told me that was about him.

I don't particularly like horses or horse-racing or jockeys so I didn't like this book and nothing overly interesting or thought-provoking happened in the story. Besides, perhaps, the dead horse and its rider at the very end but for a short story it was a tiring read.
