a genuinely interesting character study and gives Gone Girl energy, but with less actual plot points. very intriguing and if listening on audiobook good voice narration

I even skipped to the end in hopes of easing my discomfort with the book. It didn’t help.

I wish it got a little crazier. Good twists at the end though!

One of those books you read until the end. I picked it up because it was exploding on BookTok.
First half was pretty slow and the narrator was unlikable. The pace picked up a bit and my jaw was on the floor as I read the epilogue.

I had the opportunity to read this in French, and the writing is beautiful. The first two paragraphs had me focused from the start.

I thought this was going to tell the story of an insecure woman’s relationship with her husband. She’s clearly an overthinker and always assumes the worst case scenario is going to happen.

In the beginning, the main character seems to love her husband above anyone else. She’s deeply scared that her husband will inevitably slip through her fingers somehow, cheat on her and leave.
I got confused and realized she was psychotic when she
cheats on him for the first time
halfway through the book. I didn’t expect this at all given how much she seems to love him and the way she wants him to love her just as much.

The ending was unexpected but nicely done in my opinion. I liked it but I have many unanswered questions.
