I didn’t think I would enjoy this rom-com so much. I loved the mention of celebrities and it was just a really nice read.

I cannot believe she’s 40 and THIS obsessed with Keanu. I also don’t care about Keanu esp considering 2 minutes in and she clearly is attracted to Tru and he’s in love with her but she’s obsessed with a random famous man. Just can’t vibe with it.

I’m all for a slow burn, but this was too slow. And annoying. The MCs KNOW each other likes each other but they keep second guessing or coming up with excuses. Frustrating, and not in a fun way.

I’ve never been more disappointed in a book…I never rate my “bad books” because I feel it’s unfair to some people (I also don’t want to hurt the authors feeling) since everyone has different taste…but this book is an exception,

Picture this…

The FMC is 40-45 YEARS OLD,

And she’s obsessed with some celebrity, (not hating on that since many people have celebrities they love and look up to)

But she goes above and beyond and insane with her love for this celebrity,

She has a million things in her apartment dedicated to this man, and when she finds out he’s getting married in 90 days she takes it upon herself to basically turn into a stalker and drive around (with her poor best friend who’s so obviously in love with her) and search for her celebrity crush,

This is her list directly from the book (though I got lazy with writing towards the end!):

1) locate - tricky, yes. Keanu was a cagey bugger.

2) meet- trickier. Bodyguards would no doubt be a problem, but I’d figure something out.

3) charm- I’d been playing the game my whole life. Number one code switcher. I’d charm Keanu and…

4) convince- (I’m way too lazy to type out her ridiculous thoughts)

5) marry….( I’m not even gonna attempt to write her reasoning for this bullshit)

Yes, you heard it here folks, this 40-something-year-old woman is going to try to ruin the poor man’s relationship and engagement,

This was one of if not the worst books I’ve read, maybe if the author made this woman 18-21 years old I would overlook the stalker-like (and psychopathic) tendencies, but I just couldn’t with this book,

Every damn paragraph I was thinking in my head:

“Is she for real? Isn’t she in her mid-40s? Did I miss read it and she’s actually 13?”

I’m truly upset because I wanted to love this book so bad, the premise sounded so intriguing and in the end, it made me want to claw my eyes out.

An absolute bummer.

Ehhhh. I’m honestly pretty disappointed I spent my BOTM on this one. It was ~fine~ but it was nothing new or exciting. The characters were always fighting and it was too exhausting. I almost DNFed like 4 times so just do yourself a favor and skip it.

Adorable story!! Love the tension between true and Bethany, it literally made me feel giddy at times. I found myself with the biggest smile on my face reading through this book. Also true is probably one of the most realistic book boyfriend/love interests ever! The only reason it’s not a 4 star is Bethany was infuriating at times, it felt like she was being stubborn just for the sake of it! Overall 3.25/5 stars

While the premise sounded fun, this book was not for me. I did not feel any connection to the main characters, and the book felt both incredibly slow-paced and disconnected. I think it'll work for some folks, but it is not a book I'll return to.
