I really liked this short, straightforward manual (essentially) for neurotypicals written by an adult on the autism spectrum. It really helped me understand my daughter’s experience. I saw her on almost every page. Highly recommend for anyone who has an autistic person in their life.

This was a lovely introductory read on the subject of autism and this author experience. There was a lot of helpful information about different ways in which autism may present, and suggestions on how to approach some of these areas. I will definitely be reading more on this topic!

Clearly and concisely written, which is usually my preferred style when dealing with non-fiction that present a lot of information. It's not necessarily what I was personally looking for, but this book could serve as an excellent launching pad for people who are just starting to learn about ASD. A lot of this info I already knew through my own research, so it wasn't as in-depth as I was looking for. But again, really fantastic start for someone looking to learn. The author does a great job presenting all the info, and the layout and formatting is superb. Very easy to read. I often struggle to get through non-fiction, but I went through this quickly by my standards.

Maybe it’s because I’ve read other neurodivergent books and/or picked up info/exp elsewhere, but I felt as though I personally didn’t pick up much new info here. That being said, if you know nothing at all about autism, then this is a helpful intro. However, it can get repetitive and probably could’ve been edited down some.

This book was refreshing in its direct and easily comprehensible style, also making it a fairly short/quick read. A downside to its brevity, as others have pointed out, was that the book is really limited to the author’s perspective. As he points out, every autistic person is different—and while it was nice to learn just about him, I think the book really would have been strengthened by him interviewing other autistic people to incorporate a slightly more complete picture.

was great for my vwa!!! first of all obviously grateful for that but also very informative about autism not only how people with autism act and behave but also how to deal with some situations and help them, also the criticism in the book about certain systems and people or labels was interesting and brought light to problems i did not really think about
