A quick & unique story

A gritty, erotic story about a nursing student who gets caught up in an illegal underground fight tournament. It is obviously part one of an ongoing serial as it stops randomly in the middle of the story with no real resolution. So while it was definitely interesting enough to hold my attention and I am interested to see how things play out with Jai & Emily and the evil Skull I am not sure I will read on because I resent the hell out of stories and serials that a drip fed to the reader in parts and yo have to buy what amounts to half a dozen (minimum) books to get a complete story.

This is a quick easy read with some violence. But nothing too hectic. The author does well in creating good chemistry between the 2 main characters. The story is interesting and I was transfixed the whole way through.

The chemistry between the 2 (Jai & Emily) was off the charts. Skylar has done awesome with this book.

Emily is a sweetheart but she was somewhat annoying, but she a likable character in her own way. One night on her daily and nightly commutes home. a mysterious hooded strange man bumps into her exiting the subway and smashes her tablet screen in the process. Angry with the stranger that he won't stop and apologize, but also knowing she could not afford to pay for the tablet, she follows the stranger and walks into a world she was not even remotely ready for.

Jai didn't realise that he was being followed until it was too little too late. But if Emily thinks her tablet is her only problem she has another thing coming. She is in for one hell of a wake up call, there is no time for her to run she has to go with him no matter the cost even if it was at the sum of $10,000.

You're thrust into this underworld of the unknown and you are kept on your toes with danger lurking around every corner.

I'm a huge fan of the sexy male fighter books so I was really looking forward to this one. It's very different to anything I've read before and I have to admit, Emily's situation that she's found herself in, along with Skull, freak me out a bit...make that a lot! That said, I'm definitely interested enough to buy book 2.
