First off, I don’t suffer from depression or any other mental illness, I picked up this book because I know a few sufferers and I thought I might be able to pick up tips on how to help them. It turns out my letting them talk/rant to me is of great use to them, I’ve become known as somebody at work you can come chat to and get past something that is getting you down. It’s good to find out what I’m doing is helpful.

Secondly, this book shouldn’t be limited to anarchists, anybody suffering should read it, it is full of tips on how to manage yourself, how to get help and testimonials from sufferers to let you know you are not alone. If you know somebody suffering from any form of depression or mental illness then give this a read to get an insight in to what they are going through. Management should also read this, your employees aren’t skiving off work, they really have a problem and need your support.

The book is well laid out in concise sections, General Advice, Management, Personal accounts, links for support, advice from experts, essays explaining some ideas and tips for groups. There are some brilliant illustrations and comics by some very talented artists.

All in all this has been well thought out and could be a very useful and supportive document, remember whatever you are going through you aren’t alone.
