It was good but I wish it was better. Like more interaction between the suspect and Kurt and more action. Though I understand that it would have been too risky for the investigation.

A fascinating detective, an interesting mystery, a Swedish setting. Overall, a fun read.

Kurt Wallander: 4

Wallander's first case back on the force after his breakdown/depression; his personal story and the mystery were really well done, but I thought the ending was cliched and a bit disappointing.

Really enjoyed this until the last part. Then usual introspective and muddled Wallender mind at work. The suddenly he is off, storming a top secret location, taking out two key mercenary killers and giving James Bond a run for his money.......

Please............

He's an aging, semi drunken cop.....

Oh dear.

So many questions left unanswered. Yet, the detectives were very quick with their conclusions.
