Actually really enjoyed this book.

I was pretty hooked, its a shame the next one is a little bit more expensive than I usually go for but I'm super interested to see where the author takes this world.

At first, Selena's resistance to leading an army annoyed me, but I got it, and when she leads and fights, she kicks ass and does it well. Titus and her were very cute together, and I liked the epilogue about them very much. Her family (Eldalwen, Axonia, and Thaddeus) were amazing. I can't wait to read her younger sister's story, when that comes around. The next one is about one of the princesses of Mollac, and she controls earth, which sounds pretty cool. I really like how there are 2 from Mollac, 2 from Damu, 2 from Zenan, and then 1 is the High King's daughter. I suspect she'll have the last book, but I don't know for sure. Overall, this book had greta world building and characters, and I really enjoyed it. Book 2 here I come!

I really liked this story, and am looking forward to reading the rest of the series once they are all out. The premise is interesting and the story is well-told. I liked all the characters and enjoyed the plot.

I recommend this book to people who love stories that tell another tale to our favorite fairy tales and readers who enjoy the young adult genre. You’ll love Alicia Michaels debut novel into her young adult series that takes off at a GREAT start and will make you want more.
I’m looking forward to the next tale that will be told. =)

This series kicks off with a fast-paced, well-written YA fantasy that I found easy to get into and hard to put down. Fairy tales we grew up with are given new life and fresh twists. I especially liked the elderly brothers Grimm as steampunk adventurers--hey, it's what they would have wanted. :) Selena is a protagonist I easily liked, spunky and loyal enough to be admirable, while showing enough reluctance and fear to be relatably human. Not that she's exactly human, turns out...but that's part of the fun. Titus is a sexy companion for her, strong in his own right without ever overshadowing her powers and importance. And the world of Fallada is breathtaking in its beauty--I'd be happy to spend more time there!

I'm intrigued to know about the remaining lost princesses. Great hook for the rest of the books. Will definitely be looking up more from Alicia Michaels!

1-1.5 stars.
Oh my G, what did I just read.
If you're looking for a YA "fantasy" (Hhh) romance containing all the troops and cliches ever imagined, this is the book for you, my friend. Although, I don't think we can be friends if that's the kind of book you enjoy. Hhh
This is so bad. So bad. There's so many YA troops I can't stop my eyes from rolling on their own. I literally can't.
The "girl who grew up in a small village and feels like she doesn't belong and just wanna go away as soon as she can" troop.
The "Her feeling like she's different, special somehow" troop.
The "parents who supposedly died in an awful car accident when she was a baby" troop. (Oh my G, so sick of that one).
The "guy she just met and fell in love with instantly, because, well, it's meant to be" troop.
The "discovery she's actually a princess and her parents are rulers of a hidden world" troop.
The "evil queen who's butthurt cause she feels threatened by another woman's beauty" troop.
The "I don't wanna help but in the end I will because I need to save my insta-love" troop.
I could keep going but let's not waste time shall we. I think everyone gets the picture, right. Right ?!
Oh, and giving a necklace with one of your "puppy teeth" is not a romantic move, man, it's just gross. Hhh

Selena is living with her grandmother in small town. She look like any other girl on the outside, but she knows she is different. When no one sees she run as fast as the wind.

One day she meet Titus, handsome stranger that follows her around. She is attracted and scared of him at the same time. There is a good reason for that. He is there to kill her.

When brothers Grimm come to save her, she finds out she is one of the seven lost princess of Fallada. Evil Queen is planning on enslaving human world and they must stop her.

I like the idea behind the story, it quite interesting. What I didn't like what execution. The was too much telling and too little showing. The story didn't pull me in or hold my attention. There were some flaws in the story itself...

This was an interesting and enjoyable book, though I do find it a little unrealistic that the main character was able to fight as well as people who had been doing it for years after only a couple weeks of training. Another fun middle-grade fantasy.
