This book was a great, action packed continuation of the last book. I loved how the relationship between Mera & Shadow grew throughout time and how their conflicts always seem to be short lived and not drawn out, adding unnecessary drama in ways that some other authors do. I love how Mera is such a headstrong woman ready to fight for what she loves, and that is displayed greatly throughout this novel, but she can be a tiny bit annoying at times, with all her ‘dudes’ and whatnot. Also— that dancing scene, with the FLOSSING?! Like miss ma’am please stopp. But anyways she’s a mostly likable heroine even if she has her cringy moments every now and then— INCLUDING HER CHILDISH ASS BEHAVIOR AROUND IXANA!! like noooo stop it you’re embarrassing me! Like I know it must be so difficult and all this stuff but like hfjdjfjfug ugh if I was shadow I would have been like ugh so this is how she’s behaving rn…. But yeah gotta love her. <spikier> I do have to say that I 100% fully saw it coming that Ixana would be the true enemy. There were so many little foreshadowing bits, you couldn’t miss it if you were even slightly intuitive. I feel as though that could have been covered up a little better, but it is what it is. After having everything explained by Dannie in the Nexus, I’m still a bit confused but we’ll roll with it. I’ve truly been enjoying Shadow’s character development and how we’ve learned more about him and his vulnerabilities. The spicy scenes were well worth the wait, and I love them together! I feel as though the last battle scene was a little rushed or almost too perfect, but it served its purpose for sure. But hold on— can we talk about that ENDING?! Like dude are you literally kidding me?! I can’t handle it I hate it so so much like fhkdjgkdkgkdkjg NO! I really hope we get to see Shadow’s pov in the next book, because it’s just something I need in my life and I need to know what he’s thinking, if he feels like somethings missing in his life, what is happening?! I think that the bond Mera has with Angel will definitely come into play in the next book with helping them realize something isn’t right, and hopefully we don’t have to deal w/ Torin for too long ughhh hate him. </spikier> Can’t wait for the next book!

I absolutely LOVED this sequel! I think it exceeded what I was hoping would happen in it! The ending absolutely *mind blown* and I immediately ordered book 3 to try to read. In book 2 we have more relationships develop and it is so nice to see the connections made. I have no complaints about anything the author did and thoroughly enjoyed the entire book! Seriously recommend this series! You must read book 1 in order to understand where book 2 begins. We do get full adult scenes in this book!
