TL;DR: A fast-paced, wild adventure right from the start, and it gave me just enough of the creeps to leave a lasting impression.  Any fan of the horror-fiction genre would enjoy this!

My first experience reading a Stephen King novel didn't disappoint. Now, if you haven't read a novel by Stephen King yet, be warned that gore and horror await you. There were a couple moments where I was grossed out, but it didn't linger. The plot continued to chug along and I was engrossed again. Oh, and language warnings too. If that's a big thing for you, King might be someone for you to refrain from reading.

Without trying to give much away, this books is about a couple of interconnected murders, but the murderer seems impossible to fathom. As the book goes along, the twin halves of the main character become more and more intertwined. It was as much a psychological thriller as it was an actual crime thriller. But I will say that I might be a little creeped out by sparrows now.

I can't wait to read more books by King, but I know that I will need to space them out. I don't mind spooky and creepy, but I do value my sleep! I think this would be a good one to start with if you want to get a taste for his books. Oh, and the writing is top-notch! Seriously.
