This was a fun short read, the descriptive writing was good and i actually got more invested in the story than i thought I would, but i think at some parts the pacing just seemed off, like the first 80% of the book works up to him trying to catch and kill the fish and he does that in one page?? I also think his delusion after being at sea for three straight days could have been portrayed better maybe. However i was a fan of how the book ended

The first time I finished this book I had just graduated from school. It was a sunny summer day and I was reading outside on my terrace, and I was alone at home. I remember crying throughout the last ten pages without being able to stop for about an hour. I just finished rereading it now, as I chose to work with it for my Methodology of Literary Research class this semester. This second time around, I finished it alone at home again, but now I live alone, in another country. Everything has changed but the way I feel about this book hasn't, and I don't think it's going to. It pulls at my heartstrings in a way that very few books do.

Trying to read some of the classics and I have to admit I prefer Steinbeck to Hemingway but this story deserves the label of a classic.

I mean I guess it’s a classic but I don’t see why I’ve liked other works better by him it just felt boring
