I did not love it nor did I enjoy my reading experience with this, but I cannot say that it is a bad book. I despised most of the characters (which I guess we're supposed to). At times it felt confusing
(I still don't understand why most of them died
and I had to use a family tree to keep track of the relationships between the characters. On the good side it is very well written and atmospheric. It was probably a good book, just not for me.

I've rated it fairly low, but I don't think it's a bad book, just not for me. I found it confusing to follow - it took me a good ten chapters to figure out what was happening/what the plot was, and some of the characters having multiple names had me thinking one character was two separate people until almost the end of the book. It's easier to understand in the second half for sure, and I assume it's a better reading experience the second time round. It's a nice writing style and the overall concept is interesting, but Heathcliff's whole character and story is more frustrating than entertaining for me.

5 stars because of the power Emily Brontë holds to make me go through this whole novel just to complete graduation (despite it sitting in my bookshelf, neglected, for about 3 years)
