Loved the first book, this one not so much. First of all it reads like a bad action movie. They would get a chance to shoot the bad guy and instead would have to talk a little smack first and then lose the chance to shoot him, this happened over and over. The involvement of human trafficking abs grooming of women for rich powerful men was awful!! Then the fact that it turned one of the characters on to watch this. Definitely wouldn’t recommend and won’t continue the series.

The whole thing was a trip!! I was pumping adrenaline through my own body whether they were fighting or running or had a spicy scene. It was so good and gave you all the suspense throughout the whole book while also leaving it hanging at the end. It gave you so many scenarios to run through with the ending you can only wait to see how the next book will turn out.

So good! A lot more action and plot this time!
I do think some of the Caleb dramatics was handled poorly in the writing. It’s the same syndrome that bothered me in Fourth Wing. That whole “you betrayed me to save me” bs, if you cannot see that he was doing what he had to, to get you free, then you need to grow up.
Other than that I was gripped. This one was much darker getting into harsh topics like human trafficking.
Nick with the dog solidified him as my favorite for sure!

Dangerous Liaisons.
Ryth made a friend in Vivienne and now the both of them are plotting ways to escape the Order. Ryth’s stepbrothers are doing “whatever it takes” to break her out of the “hell” she is trapped in. Caleb risks his soul to get close to her and his friend pays the ultimate price. Nick befriends an injured puppy and Tobias is completely off the rails. Just as we think Ryth is going to be saved it seems the whole world has turned against them, even her mother is out to get her put her “back where she belongs”.
A rescue and a recapture and both Ryth’s and Caleb’s life’s hang in the balance only for a last minute reprieve from a very unexpected source. And Viv is in imminent danger.

It keeps building!
These books just make you want to keep going! There’s no moment of rest! Caleb trying to redeem himself really done it for me! I’m glad nothing too traumatic has happened to Ryth. I can’t wait till that disgusting being of her mom gets what she deserves! On to the next! May the odds ever be in your favor- Hunger Games
