This book is an entertaining compendium of stories and facts about the New York Giants football team through the years (to 2012). For most Giants fans, many of the "100 things" will bring back memories, some fond and some painful. Other chapters in the book will provide new information and insights.

I learned more than I previously knew about Giants co-owner Wellington Mara and how he put his philosophy of the "Giants family" into action time and again. Many, many players are profiled, and it's hard to single out individuals in a short review of the book. But to mention just a couple, I came away with a new appreciation for running back Joe Morris and linebacker Harry Carson, both of whom I remember as great players, but both of whom also seem to be very good people.

One of my favorite anecdotes comes from quarterback Ed Danowski (1934–1939, 1941), courtesy of his son. During a game in his rookie season, Danowski was on the sideline. "People were chanting in the upper cheap seats, 'We want Danowski! We want Danowski!' His coach [Steve Owen] quickly called him over. Danowski threw off the cape players wore to combat the cold. He snapped on his chin strap. He ran as soon as he heard his name. 'You hear those people chanting your name?' Owen asked him. 'Yes, coach,' the rookie replied. 'Go up there and see what they want,' Owen said.

I wish the book had an index so I'd be able to revisit references to players, games, etc., more easily. But if you're a Giants fan, you'll find a lot to like in this book.
