dark tense
I remember reading this as a teenager and feeling incredibly disturbed by the things the protagonist experiences.

I’m not sure if I loved this novel, I’m not sure how I feel besides hurt and sad. This was so sad and so dark. Starting off as Sky who gets slut-shamed everyday being befriended by the gay mormon and then meeting bad boy Holder and turning into the most tragic and sad story I’ve read in a while. I didn’t cry, but I physically reacted at this book twice by getting shivers and just screaming and closing the book twice.

It took me until about half of the book for me to actually like Holder. I just felt like he was so sus and didn't trust his intentions. But then the longer you read, all the layers are peeled. I really liked how Colleen wrote this story. Her writing is beautiful. And she writes feelings so realistically.

This entire book could've been resolved if he just talked to her. This whole time he knew this big secret, which I saw coming a mile away, and didn't tell her until the very end.

ALSO the stuff that happened with her father was disgusting. So if you are sensitive to child rape, then this book will be triggering. It doesn't just mention the scenes, it goes into detail.
