I really enjoyed this book. I was heavily emotionally invested in the characters story. I also loved the way it was written and reminded me of a little bit of a script.

This book has absolutely everything I could ever want in a story, which is why I was so sad when it disappointed me. I'm not even sure what it was that didn't sit right. I wasn't very satisfied with the choices that the main character made, and the writing style didn't really mesh with me. I really wanted to love this book, but in the end, it just didn't work out.

I was grinning within three pages of this book, and I was grinning at the last few pages too. It just made me happy. A very sweet love story between these two young women, and surrounded by the drama and in-jokes of a high school theater crew. Neither of my high schools had such a deeply embedded, committed theater culture as this school does, but I've done enough dabbling on both sides of the curtain to really appreciate and enjoy how it was represented here.

If you're looking for something to lift your mood that involves musical theater references, superstitions and a touch of the enemies to lovers trope (tech crew vs actors), this is worth checking out.

i didn’t really like the writing style, and i also didn’t like melody. she was so infuriating!! i also think the cast and crew hatred was way too strong, but idk if it’s like that in real life. it wasn’t amazing, but i liked it enough

I loved this so much! The chemistry between Melody and Odile was so fun and cute! made me miss being in high school theatre!
