I really enjoyed this right up until the last chapter.

The speed of the narrative had made me a bit wary - there was only about an hour or so left and a lot of plot to get through - and I'd been right.

Overall, it's a fun book. Little cheesy in parts but who cares?

I really like Green’s writing but none of his other series have filled the hole left by the end of the Nightside series. This one may just fill that hole. I hope he continues this series.

This is a perfect "brain off, fun on" book. The characters are interesting and easy to love, but there isn't enough emotional depth to get too attached. The plot was interesting and kept the pages turning, but there wasn't a lot of depth to explore. The world was interesting, but super easy to set up and explain.

Basically, if you're looking for a really quick and easy read, this is a great book to do that. That exact part holds it back from being truly great though. If this book wanted to be spectacular it would need so much more: emotions, excitement, hurdles to overcome, depth in characters and the world, etc. It isn't a bad book, but it could be so much better.

I do enjoy a good heist, and this was a world like no other. A little slick at times, but good heists are

Entertaining, quick read, and who doesn't love a heist? A supernatural heist?

It isn't an amazing or unpredictable story, and it was weird how all these scary characters just volunteered their back stories as soon as we met them. Plus, the narrator constantly knows what's best, which isn't incredibly satisfying when you're hoping for some tension.

But whatever, read it on a plane or at the beach.

Amusing take with a really excellent reader. I always find it a bit disappointing when stories in world's with magic still depend on guns as major plot points. Seems like something more creative could be used instead.
