Knox and Memphis (and drake)

I hated everyone's names lmao

This was fine and average.

Contemporary with grump chef and (kind of) boring FMC. Like I loved her as a mum but idk how that linked up with desrvied herself as being, pre becoming a mum.

I didn't like how Knox was keen to get her pregnant asap after she had a traumatic emergency caeserean and PPH not 5-6 months ago. I kept thinking - no dude she needs more time to heal! Also did they have caesereans for all of their kids (peep the free epilogue). All I can think about was the accreta risk ๐Ÿ˜ญ I need answers! I usually love breeding kink and stories with kids etc. but I was dragged out of the story by my work brain lmao.

Contains:
A good third act drama ngl
3 spicy scenes
Cooking!
Single mum with a newborn - very cute scenes with Knox helping her!

Memphis and Drake had brought life to my home. Laughter and noise that I hadnโ€™t even realised Iโ€™d wanted.

โ€œIโ€™m not a charity case, Knox.โ€
โ€œI cook for you because itโ€™s how I show someone I care. I cook for you because I love the look on your face after that first bite. I cook for you because Iโ€™d rather cook for you than anyone else.โ€

โ€œYou areโ€ฆyou are a dream,โ€ he breathed. โ€œI gave up on those.โ€
โ€œMe too.โ€

Sheโ€™d given me her best days. Iโ€™d give her mine.

๐Ÿž๏ธ Small town chef resents the woman his sister is forcing him to rent his garage loft to

๐Ÿž๏ธ Meddling family
๐Ÿž๏ธ Some on-page spice
๐Ÿž๏ธ Banter ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป
๐Ÿž๏ธ Protective MC; part grump, part cinnamon roll, and his relationship with Drake ๐Ÿฅน
๐Ÿž๏ธ He falls first

๐Ÿž๏ธ MC growth; FMC navigating boundaries with toxic family and gaining confidence in who she is without them, MMC overcoming past relationship trauma, risking a relationship and trust
๐Ÿž๏ธ Epilogue

โš ๏ธ Parental abandonment, toxic relationship (past & family), pregnancy, kidnapping, dementia (brief mention).

I liked the slow build of Knox and Memphisโ€™ relationship and how they helped each other heal. Im a huge fan of these books not having third act break-ups!! I didnโ€™t enjoy this book as much as book 1 because sometimes I found Memphis a little annoying but I did like being back in Quincy and seeing Knox get his happily ever after.
