Treasured by Thursday, the final installment in Catherine Bybee's Weekday Brides series, is another marvelous romance with a few suspense elements. This delightful novel pairs up Gabriella "Gabi" Masini, a matchmaker at Alliance, and Hunter Blackwell, a billionaire in desperate need of a wife. After Gabi deems him an unsuitable candidate for Alliance, the ruthless businessman does a little digging into her background and coerces her into a marriage of convenience. The sparks fly between them, but will trust issues and baggage from their respective pasts keep them from acting on their growing attraction for one another?

Beginning about eighteen months after the events of the previous book, Gabi is settled into her new life in CA and her career with Alliance. Although she has made new friends and is happy with her life, she is still a little traumatized by the abuse she suffered at the hands of her deceased first husband, drug smuggler Alonzo Picano. Her personal life still might be a bit of a mess, but professionally, she is on top of her game and Hunter's background sets off enough alarm bells to disqualify him as a client for Alliance. Unfortunately, Gabi underestimates Hunter and she is quite alarmed by the information he finds after his investigation into her past. Realizing she has been outmaneuvered, Gabi agrees to marry him, but only if he agrees to her somewhat outrageous conditions.

Hunter is sexy and charming, but he is also a little unscrupulous when it comes to forcing Gabi to marry him. He is a loner, estranged from his family and he is all business, all the time. He is a brilliant businessman, always thinking ahead to his next venture but he is rather cold and calculating. When it comes to Gabi, Hunter does not think past what he needs and he will do whatever it takes to achieve his goal of finding a wife. His surprisingly sweet side is revealed soon after they marry and it does not take long before he is infatuated with Gabi.

Unfortunately, Hunter left out a few pertinent details about his personal life and his past eventually collides with Gabi's with disastrous results. Despite the extra security measures, danger comes at them from all sides and Gabi inadvertently puts herself in harm's way when she reacts without thinking things through. This part of the storyline is a little predictable but there are enough twists and turns to keep the story moving at a brisk pace.

Treasured by Thursday is an entertaining, action-packed novel with a wonderful cast of appealing characters. Catherine Bybee puts another unique spin on the marriage of convenience plot device and the resulting love story between Gabi and Hunter is quite captivating. Old and new fans are sure to love this magnificent final installment of the Weekday Brides series.

Treasured by Thursday is the final book in the Weekday Bride series. I'm so sad to see this series end, but Catherine did an amazing job giving us one last story full of humor, suspense, heat, grief, love and friendship. I love Catherine's writing and I can't wait for more from her! Gabi is living in LA, trying to forget her life with her ex. She wants to forget everything that he did to her. Hunter needs a wife and goes to Alliance, but he's just about the worst candidate. Until, Gabi finds herself personally blackmailed into marrying him. She's sure there's no chance of falling for Hunter and just doing her time in the marriage and leaving a very rich woman. She has her own reasons for agreeing to marry him. But, she didn't expect to actually like him. She didn't expect him to make nice with her mother. She just didn't expect Hunter. They have the more hilarious conversations and every time she said "get hit by a bus," I laughed out loud! Just when they are learning to care about each other and trust in each other, Gabi's past comes back to get her. Will Hunter realize that he loves her before it's too late? Can Gabi trust that Hunter isn't going to hurt her? Thank you, Catherine, for giving us this incredible series and ending it on the highest note possible. I can't wait to see what Catherine has coming up next!

His gaze would capture her hand on the stem of her martini glass and linger.
She stroked it a few extra times until Hunter gently kicker he under the table.

He tasted like whiskey, smelled like sin, and kissed her like a devil guaranteed to break her heart.

"You're ignoring me."
"I'm Italian…I ignore what I don't want to hear."

"We'll take my car."
Blink.
Blink.
"The Aston Martin?"
Gabi shrugged. "What's the worst that can happen?"

I found the plot of this book to be a bit contrived in places, however, I still thoroughly enjoyed reading it. This author has become one of my guilty pleasures and I love the Weekday Brides. I am sad that there are only 7 days in the week because I am going to really miss these characters.

So bittersweet that this series is over :-( I will miss this group of characters!! Gabi and Hunter's story, once again same sort of story as the series but completely different.

This is a good final book in the series. It was the story of Gabi who gets blackmailed into marrying Hunter. Gabi then ends up getting herself in trouble as she trys to get rid of the trouble from her past marriage. It was a great story though it did not keep me as hooked as some of the previous books in the series. It included all the characters from the previous books. The arranged marriage was a bit predictable as knew how that would end but the other bits were more interesting. Definitely a good end in a series I would recommend. xx
