Epic Greek poetry, a long journey home, giants, gods, goddesses, and Hector. Oh yes, I am a fan indeed.

The writing makes these two epics a slog to get through, which makes sense, having been written 2800 years ago. But I liked both the stories and it was well worth it. I think I preferred iliad a bit more, although there are only so many times I can read the sentence, "and he ran him through with a spear in his chest just above the nipple, and his armour rang rattling about him."

Epic, beautiful, brutal, and satisfying to the max. Odysseus is the original super hero.

The Odyssey was by far the more interesting of the two.
