Steven Universe is a lovely anthology full of short stories based on the show. The art is great, the stories are amusing and witty- my one complaint is the speech bubbles. The artists have little sense of pacing the words together and many pages feel very cramped.

I don't like graphic novels.
I know nothing about Steven Universe.
Only read this for a buddy read.
Thank goodness it was short.

The story was not at all enticing, even setting aside my confusion.

A lighthearted companion to the Steven Universe television show. This is a number of vignettes that explore the characters. If you are a Steven Universe fan, this is a cute addition to the show but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who isn't already familiar with the characters and the world.

Fun but it feels like filler. In anime, these would be considered the beach episodes.

If you haven't watched the show you won't get it. It's like Season one before all *that* happened. It's filler, doesn't add to the lore.

Not as deep or thoughtful as the cartoon, alas, and the art style was a little hard to decipher most of the time.

Though there were some good moments, and the cover gallery at the end was SO LOVELY I would buy this graphic novel just to tear these out and paste them to my wall. (I read a library copy so I won't do that just yet.)
