Overall I enjoyed this book. It made me incredibly sad to see how lies, even if thought for the good of others, can break one person down and change their relationship with others.

I liked it, but then I saw the movie and it really ruined it for me a little.

This is not a book I would typically pick up, but it was available. It took me a while to get into, and at the beginning I thought of putting it down, but I stuck with it. I really liked the characters and story of Pheobe and Caroline. Henry's life and his wife's Nora, became depressing becasue of his choice to give up his little girl. Overall, it is a good book, but not something you want to pick up if you are needing a light cheery book.

I truly could not stop reading this but I can't tell if I really liked it or not. It's really hard to read! I kept wanting to yell at the characters!

I thought the book was going to be more about Down's Syndrome, but it ended up being more about a man keeping a dark secret from his family. The ending was fairly predictable and it took forever to get there. I got bored! It's won some awards, so obviously it comes with high recommendations from many. Just not my favorite.

An excellent idea which sort of got lost along the way, cardboard characters who were hard to sympathise with and somewhat strange last minute addition towards the end of the book. It’s a pet peeve of mine when I read a book with a stunning theme or idea and it’s handled poorly.

Wasn't quite sure about the ending - I don't know if the wife would have made a different choice as she came across as a society wife to me. A good read though.

I think this book is powerful, moving, tragic and a real page turner. I found it very hard to put down because I couldn't believe what I was reading. It was so awful to read how that decision to get rid of his child affected all their lives. I do think that perhaps Phoebe had a better life with Caroline than she would have had otherwise. Altho I'm sad about Caroline's attitdue to Robert.

I think many people should read this book to help change attitudes to people who are different. See them as individuals who have the right to their place in the world.

It has been several years since I picked this book up in a discount shop. It still sticks with me, the message of limited and limitless love. The truth that we are haunted by our choices. That the only way we got to where we are, was by choosing to walk here.
