Very mixed feelings about this book. On the one hand, the serious repetition of certain scenes and phrases eventually aggravated me, but on the other hand, I can see how this style mirrors the thought patterns of an obsessive mind. There were parts where I felt lost and confused, but the story sparked a desire to learn more about the history of Slovenia (which is a major reason I wanted to read the book in the first place). It had moments of beautiful writing, but other parts dragged on. I found it worth reading, but probably wouldn't recommend it to most people I know.
