I enjoyed reading this folktale with my son. I don’t think I can comment on the story itself. It’s so far outside of my cultural understanding that anything I’d have to say would be inappropriate. Stories like this help me see what is lacking in the white/American/European-colonizer point of view. I have no framework to fit this story into my understanding of the world, but it enriches me.
