Funny, sweet and actually a big surprise. I wasn’t expecting it to be such a nice read. Unfortunately, the cover is awful

cheesed so bad you might as well call me a rat

(it’s actually a 3.75, bc it felt very 90 minute straight to cable lifetime romance)

Surprised to see all these high ratings. This book just really didn't do it for me. Tbh I was NOT a fan of Captain Mackenzie and I felt like Maddie could have been fleshed out a little more.

I have no way to explain why I read this but I did and I surprisingly enjoyed it, even though this book really isn't for me. Not sure I'm ever going to read a romance novel again, however, it was an interesting foray into the genre.

I will say the premise of this book made me laugh out loud and I particularly enjoyed the prologue and Maddie's first meeting with Logan. I don't think I've laughed quite so much at a books' opening in quite some time. Although, I will be 'verra verra' happy if I never read the word 'verra' ever again...
